this is the first time that i have oppressed my photography on the blog, but i think that the image is worthy -
the reason why i've got the image up is that i uploaded this roland appel tune for a friend and just thought that everyone should hear it. alongside rolands other tune, this is one of the contenders for tunes of the year. sinister.
there are always exceptions to prove a rule, much like hendrix to prove that not all guitarists are shit. in fact, i think the only guitarists i really have an annoyance with are twatty sit-around-the-camp-fire acoustic guitarists. just, why?
anyway, one man has done a lot to improve my estimation of guitarists, and that is serge from kasabian -
not only does he bloody nail the road to wembley wearing winklepickers, but he is also in one of the best bands going at the moment, as you will hear from the drum and horn fuelled bonanza below. enjoy
soil and pimp sessions are a 6-piece jazz band hailing from Japan. i would claim to know a load about them, but all i do know is that they are very very very good. what i certainly don't know is what the "agitator" Sacho does, else than walk around in a pimp-esque manner.
as it's my first day, i've gone for a triple header on the soil and pimp's. first up is a mix from a friend of mine that first turned me onto the pimps, the bloody rude Gristy -
so i've been wanting to create a blog for a while now and was waiting for some inspiration. it came on an ibiza holiday this summer when listening to some especially weak acoustic something-or-other and just thinking 'drums totally shit on guitars sometimes'.
